Places Around Shirdi

Known for its source of the Godavari River, the Trimbhakeshwar is only located at a distance of 10 kilometers from Shirdi, in Nashik district. It is one of the renowned temples around Shirdi, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva and regards great importance due to the presence of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
Millions of devotees come here to witness the legend and offer their prayers. The devotees also pay homage to Kusavarta, which is regarded to be a religious ‘Kunda,’ marking the source of the Godavari River. Apart from its religious significance, the temple is also quite renowned for its architectural finesse and is only made of pitch-black stones.

From base village, it takes 45 minutes to see Ganga dwar, the Gorakshanath caves and 108 Swayambhu Mahadev caves and in the halfway while descending, the road towards Brahmagiri takes you till the top in around 45 minutes and almost 2 hours to see the fort completely. There are 2 temples on this fort the place which is believed to be the origin point of Godavari river. From here, the river flows till Ganga dwar and then towards Kushavart teerth in Trimbakeshwar village.

Temple Aarti Timings:
Darshan timings are from 5:30 am to 9:00 pm. Rudrabhishek timings are from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Special poojas are at 7:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Special Poojas include Rudrabhishek, Mrityunjaya Mantra and Laghu Rudrabhishek. General darshan is allowed from a distance of 5 meters.
